MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone

The MKE 600 is the ideal video camera/camcorder microphone able to handle even demanding filmic challenges. Due to its high directivity, the MKE 600 picks up sounds coming from the direction in which the camera is pointing and effectively attenuates noise coming from the sides and rear. The switchable “Low Cut” filter additionally minimizes wind noise.

FEATURES Rugged all-metal housing

The lightweight and durable housing ensures reliability without weighing down your rig. The included shoe shock mount accommodates mounting the MKE 600 to a camera. Connect the mic’s XLR output to an mic preamp or use the supplied adapter cable to plug it into the 3.5mm mic input on a camera.

Pronounced directivity

The MKE 600 uses an interference tube and a super cardioid/lobar polar pattern to provide pronounced directivity on-axis along with significant attenuation of sound entering at the sides and rear, making the it far more effective at capturing distant sources.

Battery or Phantom Powered

Thanks to its 3-pin XLR output and compliance with 48 VDC phantom powering, the MKE 600 is compatible with a variety of handheld audio recorders, field recorders, and mixer adapters, as well as built-in preamps on many camcorders and cinema cameras.

Battery switch with “Low Batt” indicator

Because some video cameras/camcorders do not provide phantom power, the MKE 600 can also be battery powered. A battery on/off switch prevents the battery from discharging prematurely; “Low Batt” is displayed. A single AA battery can power up to 150
