The AC30 Hand-Wired Greenback pairs vintage-accurate, hand-wired construction with Celestion Greenback speakers for a warmer, darker midrange and earlier breakup. A faithful British classic reborn for stage and studio, with rich harmonics and touch-sensitive feel.

Vintage Tone, Meticulously Recreated

The AC30’s signature voice comes from its EL84 power section and the way its phase inverter distorts when pushed, adding complex harmonics and openness beyond typical preamp overdrive. The AC30 Hand-Wired recreates a 1963 “copper panel” model, capturing its voltage sag for natural compression and sustain while remaining quiet and reliable. A custom-wound output transformer delivers the bell-like highs, rich mids, and harmonic bloom of the original—true vintage feel.

Custom Transformers, Vintage Cabinet Resonance

A key part of the AC30 voice comes from its custom-wound output transformer, developed to recreate the harmonic signature of original ’60s units. The cabinet uses 12mm birch ply, just like the vintage models, for optimal resonance and openness.

With two 12″ Celestion G12M Greenbacks inside, the result is unmistakably VOXThe Greenbacks lend a rounder top end, softer attack, and quicker speaker breakup. If the Alnico Blue is glass and sparkle, the Greenback is all warmth and grit.

The AC30 Hand-Wired features real spring reverb driven by a dedicated tube stage, not a basic circuit. A purpose-built output transformer matches impedance for lush, present tones. Shape your sound with Level and Tone controls, and use the included footswitch for instant reverb bypass.

Transparent, Pedalboard-Ready FX Loop

The AC30 Hand-Wired meets modern demands with a FET-buffered effects loop built for clarity. Unlike tone-coloring loops, its transparent design keeps modulation and delay pristine—even in overdrive. And for purists, the loop is fully bypassable.

Normal Channel: Thick and warm, with a Bright switch for extra clarity.Top Boost Channel: The signature VOX chime, slightly tamed by the Greenbacks, delivering British crunch with better control at lower volumes.
