Description

Canoga is a simple pedal to useone knob for Drive, one for output Levelbut the magic happens in the interaction between your guitar and the pedal’s input, and between the pedal and your amp. As with many classic fuzz pedals, Canoga works brilliantly when plugged into an amp that already has a bit of “hair” on the tone, much like guitar greats of the 60s and 70s that ran their rigs. Traditional unbuffered fuzz pedals like to be connected directly to your guitar, allowing the circuitry to “see” your pickups and volume pot. Canoga honors this tradition. With both pedal pots and your guitar volume full up, you get the complete, saturated fuzz experience. But roll back the volume on your guitar, and a new world opens upsemi-clean blues, rock, Americana, and pop sounds that stay clear in the high frequencies without getting muddy. The Canoga guitar effects pedal joins Fairfax as the second pedal in Strymon’s ‘Series A’ linea collection of pure analog pedals designed to offer something different from traditional Strymon offerings. There’s no MIDI, no USB, no firmware, no digital processing. Just 100% analog circuitry, true bypass switching, and a tweaked version of a vintage silicon FuzzFace style fuzz circuit. The wide range of gain makes it suitable for multiple styles of music, from classic rock and blues to alternative and beyond. An internal jumper lets you set the initial power-up state, either bypassed or engaged. Power requirements are simple: 9VDC center negative with a minimum of 50mA (power supply sold separately). Dimensions are a pedalboard-friendly 4.53″ deep x 2.83″ wide x 2.33″ tall.
  • VINTAGE STYLE SILICON FUZZ PEDAL: Canoga delivers classic fuzz tones inspired by legendary 60s and 70s guitar rigs—one knob for Drive, one for Level, and a direct connection between your guitar and the pedal’s input
  • CLEAR HIGH FREQUENCY RESPONSE: Unlike a traditional fuzz guitar pedal that gets muddy, Canoga stays articulate and clear when you turn down your guitar’s volume—opening up semi-clean blues, rock, Americana, and pop sounds without switching pedals
  • WIDE GAIN RANGE FROM FULL FUZZ TO DYNAMIC OVERDRIVE: Your guitar volume delivers the complete fuzz experience; roll back the volume knob and discover a new world of responsive, touch-sensitive tones that rival traditional distortion pedals
  • PART OF SERIES A – PURE ANALOG WITH NO DIGITAL PROCESSING: From Strymon’s analog team, Canoga features no MIDI, USB, firmware, or digital processing—just 100% analog circuitry in a classic mono in/out format with true bypass switching
  • HIGH IMPEDANCE INPUT WORKS BEST DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO GUITAR: Designed to be placed first in your chain, Canoga’s unbuffered input interacts directly with your guitar’s pickups and volume pot for maximum responsiveness and vintage-correct feel
